Online Friends

Make sure you think before accepting people as friends online.

Here are some top tips to protect yourself:

1. Too good to be true
Make sure you understand that some predatotrs pretend to be children the same age or sex as you to make friends. They may pretend they have the same hobbies, beliefs to try and fool you and lead you into a false sense of security. This is called grooming so make sure you only accept friends that you know online.

2. Follow your instinct
If you are unsure about who you are talking to online and they say inappropriate things you must tell an adult. If you do not report them things could get worse. If a stranger talks about sex with you online it is likely to be a predator.
